Completed investment strengthens the Group's Greek manufacturing base and its ability to serve
growing demand for fresh produce netting packaging
HERAKLION, Greece — 27 July 2026 — KARATZIS S.A., a global manufacturer of technical netting and packaging solutions, today announced the completion of a significant capacity investment in raschel bags production, following the acquisition of a package of raschel knitting equipment from DANIS Daniel Iwański, a manufacturer based in Ożarów Mazowiecki, Poland.
The production lines, acquired under an asset purchase agreement will be upgraded and installed at the Group's Larisa plant in Greece, substantially increasing its raschel bags in rolls capacity. The investment follows sustained growth in demand across global markets for auto-bags used in the automatic packing and presentation of fruit, vegetables and other fresh produce.
Demand is supported by a broader shift in European packaging requirements. Karatzis Raschel Bags use substantially less plastic per unit than alternatives, in line with the packaging minimisation principles introduced under the EU PPWR while the mono-material construction of raschel bags supports design for recycling. The Group's raschel bags in rolls are used principally for bulk produce formats above 1.5 kg, packed on automated lines.
For customers, the added capacity means shorter lead times, greater flexibility in order planning and increased security of supply during peak harvest seasons — the periods when packaging availability matters most to growers, packers and retailers.
The transaction is the second investment of its kind completed by the Group within a year, following the acquisition of Karl Mayer knitting lines from Famag Spółka z o.o. Together, the two investments substantially reinforce the Group's raschel bags in rolls division.

The new capacity will be brought into service over the coming months. KARATZIS continues to invest in its production base as part of a long-term strategy of manufacturing in-house and controlling quality across every stage of the production chain.
